The reason it is called the “Islet of Love” becomes clear when viewed from above: Daskalio is perfectly shaped like a heart. It was for this very reason that in 2002, the Greek National Tourism Organization officially named the islet “EROS,” making it the centerpiece of a major promotional campaign for Greek tourism.
