Triopas ( Ī¤ĻĪÆĪæĻĪ±Ļ ) is the son of Poseidon and Canace, who used materials from a temple of Demeter to build the roof of his own house. As a punishment, the Gods gave him insatiable hunger and forced him to be eternally bitten and poisoned by a snake, but eventually, Demeter placed him and the snake among the stars as the constellation Ophiuchus, in order to remind others of his crime and punishment.
