The Aegean’s Best-Kept Secret: Discovering Koufonisia

Experience first-hand the exotic beauty of the Cyclades on our private day cruise. This journey explores the undiscovered Caribbean of Greece. Our destination is the magical cluster of islands known as the Small Cyclades. These include Koufonisia, Schinousa, and Heraklia. Their remote location preserves their authenticity and unique character. Furthermore, these islands attract all travelers seeking something truly different on their holidays. They offer a taste of the true, unspoiled Cycladic spirit. The islands boast many beautiful, sandy beaches. Turquoise, crystal-clear waters surround these shores. This combination creates a stunning puzzle of exotic colors and light.

Starting from Mykonos, the journey takes only 80-90 minutes to reach the islands. This makes it an excellent choice for a comprehensive one-day excursion. For the true island lover, this chain of small, secluded islands feels like paradise regained. A visit here truly reminds people of the Greek island experience from decades ago. Back then, life moved slower, and simple pleasures defined the day. In the Small Cyclades, the mission is simple: switch off and immediately revert to “island time.”

    Cruising the Undiscovered Shores

We begin our exploration near the rocky islet of Glaronisi. This small, uninhabited island sits directly east of Ano Koufonisi. This area offers stunning views and pristine swimming opportunities. Cοnsequently, the captain will οften select a spot here for our first quick stop. Οur main fοcus, is the incredible natural landscape οf these islands. The majority of the coastline in this region is accessible exclusively by boat.

Exploring the Gems of Ano KoufonisiĀ

Next, we approach Ano Koufonisia, the island known for its vibrant atmosphere and stunning sights. We take a scenic tour past the spectacular Pori beach. Then, we sail by the unique sea cave known as the ā€œEye of the Devilā€ (Greek: ā€œMati tou Diavolouā€). Later, we make a stop near the harbor area. This gives you time to enjoy a short walk on the island. You can stretch your legs and absorb the relaxed rhythm of the port village

Tranquil Waters of Schinousa and Heraklia

Our journey continues southwest towards Schinousa. Also, we head for Tsigouri beach, a gorgeous cove on its western side. We drop anchor here, providing the perfect opportunity for relaxation. Guests can enjoy snorkeling in the clean waters and swimming around the boat. At this moment, wherever the captain chooses to anchor, you will enjoy the complimentary snacks, drinks, and wine provided on board.

Therefore, this ensures a perfect, carefree break in your day. Finally, we arrive at Heraklia. This island presents a truly unique experience. We vιsit the beach where a sunken World War II seaplane wreck rests just οffshore. Snorkeling over this wreck is a popular and unforgettable activity.
